Laura Linney was one of the greatest American actors in recent history. Her powerful and vulnerable roles have made her a household name. Born to a well-known playwright's father but being raised by a single mother who worked as a nurse, she became interested in theatre while spending summers with her father and eventually pursuing a degree in acting first in Brown University and then at Juilliard School. In just two short years following graduation she began her Broadway-based career. Following that, she made her debut in film and television. Her appearances have been on a variety of television, film and stage shows since that time. She received many accolades during her professional career, which included the four Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. While she has received numerous awards throughout her career, theatre has always been her first love.
